What to expect from a massage
session?Nurture Yourself
Place your self at the top of your priority list. Adjusting your
health and nutritional habits will assist you to look and feel
better. Alleviating stress can improve your overall sense of well
being and allow your mind to be clear and focused. In many cases,
massage is a more acceptable alternative to some medications.
Contraindications to Massage
Please take your time filling out your health profile and include
all relevant health problems. All health information will be
strictly confidential. If your are presently under a physicians
care for a specific condition, it is recommended that you consult
your physician prior to making an appointment.
Your Session
A mutual decision regarding your goal for the session and the areas
of the body that will be worked on will be made by you and your
practitioner.
During your massage, a blend of techniques will be used (refer to
types of therapies offered).
Your comfort level is paramount. Your level of dress is entirely up
to your comfort level. Your body will always be completely and
appropriately draped. The only part of your body that will be
exposed is the section that is being worked on.
Your practitioner will continually inquire regarding your level of
comfort (temperature, pressure, lighting etc.) and make adjustments
accordingly. Your practitioner may gently move you or tell you what
is needed throughout the session to facilitate your massage
It is your time, enjoy it! You are in control of the massage. You
may want to close your eyes and relax or talk. These responses are
welcome.
The session will end with a "Thank you" and the offer of a glass of
water
A half hour massage typically includes either half of the body or
specific areas. An hour or hour and a half session will include
face, head, neck, shoulders, arms, back, legs and feet.
